parisonj
Hi all, Just got home after a slot at an event where Aquila did the soung/staging/lighting, etc. Maybe more of a "be aware" to everyone, but their stagehands were pretty rough with our gear after our slot. Specifically ripping control leads out Digitech processors (which is highly unrecommended because of back-EMF), almost knocking my Korg Trinity off its stand where he was yanking it off stage without unplugging the mains lead or sustain pedal. All actions which I think are highly unprofessional. I actually challenged one of the guys about my Digitech 2112/Control-One who tried to argue that its perfectly ok, and that I should just shut up. I don't go round ripping the leads out their mics, DIs, monitors, etc. That's all,Jason

Doug Siddons
I know Aquila well and have found them to be a very proffessional outfit, can only assume this is a one off. It sounds to me like it was a quick changeover not happening quick enough.
parisonj
Whilst it is true that the changeovers were relatively quick (15mins), we are a band sensitive to those procedures and always clear a stage very quickly. I also have a fair bit of experience from the "other side" and always check whether it is ok to fiddle with or manhandle another acts gear.I also place stock in making sure that I have supplied (or filled in) stage plans/input plots accurately before we appear. Again, from experience in doing this, I always appreciate as much info up-front to create as much of a no-surprises event as possible. I will say that overall, time management appeared to be ok on the day. My post is to establish whether this is a one-off, maybe pressured by the event organisation itself. It sounds like it might be. I certainly didn't take too kindly to being rudely told how someone thinks my gear operates. But decided not to press the point.
