If anyone is familiar with SC-2412 by Showtec or any other similar console, please contact me, cause I need some help,

Thanks

Here's the manual:

http://www.highlite.nl/index.php/highlite/...rollers/sc_2412

Here 's an image of the controler:

http://www.musik-produktiv.de/downloadbar/...11032-front.jpg

And here are my questions (please indicate the question number when you answer. Let's make a nice guide :P):

First of all there are many buttons that seem to do nothing. The manual is very incomplete and covers only the basics.

Q1

What the buttons "Down/Beat Rev" and "Up/Chase Rev" do? Does it have to do with reversing the channels or something?

Q2

What Mix Chase means?

Q3

What the button "Insert/% or 0-255" does? I press it and I don't see any changes

Q4

What is the difference between "Dark" and "Black Out"?

----

I 'll post more questions...

Thanks everybody in advance!

Yes. What's the problem that the manual doesn't cover?

:P Hi there, I have the scene setter which is basically the same desk just minus the smoke machine button.I was using mine on friday for a fashion show,so here's the answer to question 3, this button changes the display to either 252 DMX or 100% intensity.Just pressing the button wont work as you have to go into progeam mode, put a fader to a value then press the button. To get into program mode means several different button presses and entry of a code via the flash buttons. If it helps, I am more than willing to photocopy my manual which mahes it perfectly clear how to access all functions. If you want to email me I'll get the manual photocopied for you.Keep it illuminated Roy

Q1 - What the buttons "Down/Beat Rev" and "Up/Chase Rev" do? Does it have to do with reversing the channels or something?

When you're running a chase (say one that changes the colour of an LED can) it will run "Red>Green>Blue>Red>Green>Blue" etc. If you push "Chase Rev" it will run "Blue>Green>Red>Blue>Green>Red" Instead.

BEAT REV is used to reverse the chasing direction of a program with regular beat (rather than programmed).

The "Up" and "Down" Functions are used in editing memories.

Q2 - What Mix Chase means?

Mix chase basically means if you pull up more than one fader with chases assigned to them, it will run all of them, not just the brightest/latest one.

Q3 - What the button "Insert/% or 0-255" does? I press it and I don't see any changes

Further to what RoyJ said, IIRC, you can make the %/255 option work globally, but holding down "Shift" or "Record" (can't remember which) and pressing the selector.

Q4 - What is the difference between "Dark" and "Black Out"?

"Dark" is momentary, and only functions while the button is held down, "Blackout" is 'latching' and is active until you press the button again.#

Hope This Helps

Thank you Dave!

A rather simple question now.

Q5

In the manual it says that SC-2412 has "8 pages of 12 palyback faders". Switching between pages A-B gives me 48 faders :S

See where the button labeled "Page" is? above that are 4 LEDs, each one represents a page, so there are four "pages" (1 to 4) within each "page" (A and B)

Although the manual may be lacking in some information, and be slightly simplistic in content, if you take the time to read and understand it, it will tell you pretty much everything you need.

 I agree with lxDave, do take time to read the manual,on friday I had an operator who had not seen, touched or operated the board before yet with a bit of careful reading had no problems operating and programming 3 scenes for the fashion show. You have a very useful, easy to operate board, but like most other bits of kit, tje instruction manuals are designed to be read.So take your time and read then re read the manual, and it should give no problems, and if it does you'll have the answers to sort it out.If I can be of any more help, just let me know.Keep it illuminated Roy

I have read the manual BUT it covers only very basic operations ( create/edit/delete scene etc.) and briefly exlains button functions. Thank to RoyJ though, who suggested me to read the manual of a similar controller I found my way out. Thanks everyone though
