looking for replacement "dip" switch

I have some Eurolite par 64 LEd fixtures which I am about to sell, one of the dipswitches has a faulty switch so I need to replace it to get them all fully working. I can find the dipswitch at CPC easily enough, but my soldering skills are not great and I was wondering if anyone knew if I can get a dipswitch mounted on a pcb with a suitable connector as a straight swap that I can just plug in.

Not wanting to "teach you to suck eggs"... but if you use a solder sucker/pump it will make things easier when removing the old one (basically heat old solder until moulten then suck it away with the pump... repeat for each leg of the switch until complete).

You'll find the job easiest if you completely destroy the existing switch, just leaving the pins in the PCB. Breaking it up with a large pair of pliers, but being very careful to avoid damage to the PCB, is the best approach. Then you can suck out the pins individually through the board with the soldering iron on the solder side and solder sucker on the component side. Clean up with a bit of solder wick after you've removed all of the pins.

You won't get a dip switch on a pcb to plug straight in from just anywhere, Eurolite will make these themselves...you can always try Eurolite of course, they're in Germany.

Or bite the bullet and unsolder the old one and solder in a new one.

If it looks like this, it is part number E3038233 and comes in at around 12 euro plus carriage

That looks remarkably like it, there should be a connector on the other side of the pcb. Thanks Kevin, I'll follow that up.

*thinks* hmmm, about 15 euros or 2 hours of swearing, burnt fingers, melted dipswitches...

Any luck or further news on tracking down these boards..? I also have two or three Eurolite LED Pars with faulty dipswitches and would like, ideally, to replace the whole board as neither my patience or my eyesight is up to desoldering/resoldering dipswitches these days. I have also just noticed though that on one of them, the board has come "unwelded" from the shell of the Par so will need additional work involving drilling holes, bolts, spacers etc. I just called the supplier through whom I bought them, they no longer sell Eurolite products. Funny that...

This looks like the correct part, but I haven't got round to ordering yet. The price is now under 10 euros + Carriage.

Vbm, if you are ordering some soon, get a couple for me and bung them in the post, I'll see you right! (Or vice versa if you're not in a hurry). You need to order 7 to escape their low value order admin fee, can't find out what the shipping costs are without placing the order, it reads "on request" where the shipping amount should be and I cant find an email address for them. (there's probably one there somewhere, but it's not obvious!)
