How To Use a 'Strong' Foam Cannon

Hi Guy,

Hoping you guys can help me on this.

Ive recently purchased a 'Strong' foam cannon but wasnt told how to use it.

I have been given a large 100ltr water drum, 5 ltr of foam fluid, power lead and a hose.

From what I have been told by the person I purchased it off, it requires 1 ltr of foam to 100ltr of water. This is where the water drum comes in. The water drum will be for me to mix the fluid n water together.

From there I guess the Hose will go from the foam cannon to the water drum. Then Switch on the machine and off we go?

Is that correct?

If not I would be very great if someone could let me know how to use it properly.

I may be the first to say (but not necessarily the first to think) "Oh dear....!"

These sorts of things aren't really our bag, here - we're predominantly theatre based as a membership (with a bit of live music thrown in).

You'd probably be better asking on one of the DJ/club type forums.

But I have to ask, why did you buy something without any instructions or even (presumably) a manual...?

That took about 0.2 seconds via Google. It's amazing, really.

Why do some people always ask questions like this on a forum first, rather than even trying to do a little research themselves?

Laziness? Ignorance?

It amuses and exasperates me in equal measure.

As Bryson has pointed out, a google for 'Strong foam canon' would have taken the OP straight to the Strong product page, where the manual is readily downloadable.

Oh well.

First of all where are you? I have two of these machines. The machine needs to be connected to a good pressure water supply. Thats probably where you use the hose you were given. It should pump the foam fluid in through the thin plastic pipe and mix internally. Always start the fan before turning on the water and when shutting down, turn off the water before the fan. Otherwise it will all run out the back of the unit. The mixing barrell would be used to make a snowflake effect. Just put the fluid suction pipe in to the the diluted solution and run the machine with no water hose attached.

I have found the fluid concentrate pumps to be very troublesome and I have had to find an alternative method for my parties. If there is no thin plastic pipe on your machine, the previous owner may have had a similar workaround. PM me for details

Finally, 5l of foam fluid will not go very far. I usually use 25 - 50 litres per night. Again PM me for supplies.

and prepared to get messy!! . .

hehe. the best one I saw was at a club I dj ed in a couple of weeks ago and the thing ..erm..went wrong. Que gallons of foamy water pouring out of the back of it onto the floor and causing a local flood. So much so I went and flicked off the RCD and unplugged it until the guy could sort out the mess.

then I played "rivers of babylon'
