KevinE
Hello, just wondered if anyone knows if you can get a VGA to LVDS adapter. This is for an embedded PC board which is equipped with a VGA output, TTL flatpanel drive but not LVDS; of course the LVDS is what we need!! We need to fit the adapter adjacent to the PC card, there's plenty of room but only the standard PC supply rails available to power it. The embedded PC is plugged into a PCISA backplane which has 2 free PCISA slots and 2 free PCI slots; in case there's an LVDS compatible graphics card that would work. archibald
RE VGA to LVDSI note you have had no replies to this question.I assume you whish to drive an LCD pannel from VGA.Yes you can get a VGA to LVDS convertor. They are more commonly described as display controlers.and tend to take in VGA, PAL, S Video and others to drive LVDS displays. Unfortunatly the wiring between the board and the LCD panel is by no means standard.RS do a fair range CPC just one or two. Normaly in a one off situation it would be easier to buy thetwo as a pair IE. LCD+Controler. otherwise it will require some reserch to match them. You will also need a back light invertor unless built into the controler. This can by a bit of a headache even for a seasoned engineer.
