Fixture library

To be honest, unless you want to use the effects (and they're a bit unpredictable for me) it's simpler to treat them as dimmers. I initially used the proper system but when one died, and the supplier replaced it - the effects were out of sync - a set DMX value producing different results. The newest one has RGB on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th channel, the older ones had RGB on the last three. So they all now sit on dimmer channels and I've just grouped them up - much simpler.

Another vote for that solution... I use a number of RGB pars on my Hog 1000 and the fixture profiles don't help at all since there's no way to create a intensity master in software on that desk so if you create a fixture profile in the traditional manner with R, G, B sections then they wont dim with the rest of your intensity channels (or indeed even with the GM :D) since the colour attributes are not usually part of the cross-fade unless you tell them to when recording the cues.

At least that's been my experience ... far simpler to treat them as dimmers :** laughs out loud **:
