BETAPACK 1 - wiring oddity

I have a Betapack 1 with local control which works fine. I needed to use it with remote control and duly hooked up a Level 6. The powerlight on the Betapack dimmed and nothing happened.

I checked for power out etc and on finding nothing on pins 7&8 I opened up the Betapack to find that it is wired for Pulsar pin out. It looks to be unmodified and the questions are ' were they supplied from new wired for pulsar, and is there any form of identifier on the packs?'

I will change the wiring to Zero 88 pinout so I can use it.

Thanks

Stuart

I don't think they were ever shipped that way, but IIRC the individual wires from the Preh locking connector are just connected on the terminal block on the control board, so swapping the pinout during install would be trivial (and wouldn't leave much of a trace to show a modification). I think Zero 88 never supplied these units with power leads and plugs fitted so anyone fitting a lead would have had the opportunity to do this.

So I wouldn't worry about it, unless you have grounds to suspect other and less trivial modifications...

I guess you could always ask on the Zero 88 support forums- they're usually really helpful.

Hope that helps,
