Bazz339 Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 Hi, My neighbour's son's guitar amp has blown and he has been given a Marshall 8080 amp with built in speaker to use. To me it looks like an old but reasonable unit. The speaker is totally trashed looking as though it has had something through the front of the cabinet and the speaker. Does anyone know what make of driver these were fitted with. Can anyone suggest a good quality 12" speaker that is readily available for not too much money as a replacement. He plays lead guitar. Thanks
charlyfarly Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 If you take the back off you will probably find it's a Celestion G12 / 8 ohm (it should still be on the sticker on the back of the driver). Probably around £60 to replace...contact Marshall in Milton Keynes to see if they can get you a new one or put you in touch with a dealership near by you. If you replace it with something cheap and naff it won't be a Marshall! :** laughs out loud **: http://www.marshallamps.com/
