Jivemaster Posted June 2, 2010 Posted June 2, 2010 Much/most stuff is made in China these days because the labour is cheaper. However not all Chinese produce is the same, some is good some is not. Buy stuff from reputable places with a declared identity on their whois lookup and a fully filled in site template, better but things with a UK waranty.
R Wakefield Posted June 2, 2010 Posted June 2, 2010 Hi All I am the Ops Director for Wowzi Direct, based in Knutsford Cheshire. The website you have been viewing has been undergoing a good amount of work recently and I think you may have caught it when not looking it's best. Rest assured no sales were conducted while full legal requirements were not present. The website is still undergoing a huge amount of work over the next few weeks but is now fully updated with all essentials and the WHOIS report is wholly accurate. Feedback for the company can be found on eBay UK where we trade under wowzi-direct and have 100% satisfaction. Many Thanks,
Dan Gruner Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 Have you considered looking out for an older but good quality second hand amplifier? I always advise my clients it is better to got for a good quality, well respected second user pro audio kit (even if its quite old), rather than a cheap new stuff. Normally plenty of kit out there - ex hire from a reputable company is usually the best bet.. Dan
GridGirl Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 Moderation: I'm going to shift this to the Sound forum as it belongs there!
Rob_Beech Posted June 12, 2010 Posted June 12, 2010 I've got 6 of the largest model in the range and they've been absolutely faultless. They're not a lightweight amp, but they're fantastic value for money. Do exactly what they say on the tin, and I know for a fact that if I were to get problems with them the customer service would be good. Rob
Trunker Posted July 16, 2010 Posted July 16, 2010 What are these amps like on sub bass? I am looking at some 'cheaper' amps to get me through a few gigs to get money to upgrade to Crown or QSC. Would the '2400' amp drive 2 x 18" bins ok? - (rated at 8 ohms per cab btw!) Reason why I am asking, is because I have bought some cheaper amps before that dont seem to drive sub bass very well at all.
timtheenchanteruk Posted July 16, 2010 Posted July 16, 2010 whats the rest of the spec on your bins 2x18" and 8ohm doenst give much to go on. cant say about the pulse ones, but I have used some of thomanns T-Amps on sub duty before with no problem.
Chris Beesley Posted July 16, 2010 Posted July 16, 2010 They work fine on subs - the only thing I would say is delivering 1200Wpc into 4 ohm they may not have the headroom for heavier content or some of the more power hungry cabinets.
Trunker Posted July 16, 2010 Posted July 16, 2010 I am not going to mention names on the Bins I am looking at because of some peoples attitude towards cheaper lesser known speakers, but having heard these speakers, they are amazing and are as good as the Martin Audio bass bins at a fraction of the cost and look very similar too!! The specs are 600 watts RMS, 8 ohms, 100 db spl (back of cab atcually states 105 db spl) continuous. These speakers cost only £329 each and are well worth over double that price!!
Shez Posted July 17, 2010 Posted July 17, 2010 100 db spl (back of cab atcually states 105 db spl) continuous. So only about 30dB short of a decent sub then...
Trunker Posted July 18, 2010 Posted July 18, 2010 100 db spl (back of cab atcually states 105 db spl) continuous. So only about 30dB short of a decent sub then... If you want the max spl shez it is 131. I am not an idiot so dont class me as one, thank you!! The full specs are:- Power: 600Wrms (1200Wpeak)Input impedance: 8OhmsInput Sensitivity: 100dB 1W/1m (back of cab states 105 though)Max.
