timtheenchanteruk
I have been asked to find some atmospheric music for a production coming up, and Im struggling for ideas at the moment. the scene is set at the pearly gates, there will be a pair of "pearly gates" on stage, as well as low fog, Im looking for some godly/holy type music to start the scene with, possibly underscore it. I guessing something classical, possibly harps etc, but as yet youtube etc has not given me any concrete inspiration. any ideas. ps. Wasn't sure if to put this is sound or more general chat, please feel free to move it is required.
Andrew C
I've had a lot of success with Peter Gabriel's music. Try Passion, or less likely, Rabbit Proof Fence.
AV Doug
Try some of George Martins arrangements...depends on what sort of twist you want
K.W. Burnette
Eric Whitacre has some fantastic vocal arrangements, the link is probably his best for this kind of thing, but he has some other good onesCloudburst: also in terms of choral stuff, take a look at Adiemus or Karl Jenkins, its along the same lines as Whitacre's stuff.Cantus Inaequalis:
GridGirl
If you want to go down the classical (well, mediaeval/Renaissance!) road then have a listen to Tallis's "Spem in Alium" - 40 part harmony and very angelic! I used it for a scene where an actor was being crucified on stage - total play-against the violence and blood and it worked brilliantly!
