Mattangles
Hi all, Have just been using an LS9. Has anyone else found the preamps noisy as I seem to get alot of hiss. I have a sensible gain structure across the system. Just interested to see if anyone has had similar problems. Cheers all, Matt.
Shez
I've never had any hiss issues on mine.

jason.fallon
Just remember 0dB is -18 on ls9. If you push to 0 then noise will come other than that ive found it to be fine. occasionally putting analogue line level straight from aux can be a bit noisey but thats the only thing I found Hope this helpsJ
Bobbsy
Ditto to "no noise problem". They're not the sweetest sound pre-amps in the world (though far from terrible) but certainly quieter than virtually any analogue board I've used. Now, the ADA8000s I use for additional inputs, on the other hand..... Bob
dan slv-tech
me thinks you need to check gain structure on the board.I too found them noisy 1st time I used a LS9, not so, and as bobbsy says, my ML4000 had noisier gain than my LS9
elvisdoo
I have played a lot with ls9 and the bigger brother the m7cl and there is a nasty noise floor that you can hit if you use the HA to much but if your using average to good quality source this shouldn't be a problem. what is the system you are running out of interest. TimmyP1955
Ours is quiet as a mouse. Recheck your gain structure. As was stated previously, you want to PFL to around -18dBFS on the meters.

TimmyP1955
IIRC, using OM7s on vocals, I run the LS9 headamps at around -35. With more typical mics one would run at -25 or -30.
