Replacement for Sennheiser HD25

I've now gone through two pairs of Sennheiser HD25 both of which have failed in exactly the same way. The fault being an intermittent connection inside the left hand phone resulting in having to wiggle the cable to get it to work. Clearly I can't have this happening in the middle of a show.

In both cases I know it wasn't a broken cable as I've tested the cable in isolation while manipulating it, in one case the phones were under warranty when they developed the fault but they came back from Sennheiser with 'No fault found'.

So does anyone have any recommendations for replacements. Price is not really a factor. Sound quality, isolation from environmental noise and robustness are. These are for live mixing only, I already own a pair of Sennheiser HD650 for use when I don't have to worry about the entire room hearing what I'm listening to :)

Part of the joy of the HD25's is the fact that each part is readily available for replacement rather than having to buy a whole new set when something breaks. The prong connector into the left hand cup does come loose through normal use on mine, which are 7 odd years old so not doing bad even though the cable and ear pads have been replaced. Could your issue be that the connector is coming loose? If the cable is good and doesn't have an intermittent fault then I'd look at the two pin connector going into the ear cup. As for what to replace with them with I'd suggest another pair!

I concur with the above 2 replies, HD25s are known for their robustness, I'd just get a spare part.
