steve h Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 Mornin All! Yesterday I received the AC monthly mail which is filled with the new Spotlight pole focussing system. Coming from an education point of view it seems quite nifty, especially in places where you can't get up ladders, or just as a way of saving time! I was wondering if anyone had any more info on the system as I can't currently find anything else on them, either from AC or Spotlight, but here's the photo from the email! http://img230.imageshack.us/img230/6650/spotlightpoleop2.jpg Steve edit:spag
Brian Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 Not exactly a new idea. TV has been doing it for years and years. E2A... It is a great idea and works very well. You are limited to pan, tilt and spot/flood adjustment. Barn doors are still adjusted by poking them with the pole. And Gel changing is impossible.
Paul Turner Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 The Spotlight Pole Op System is a pole operated yoke that fits most of the lanterns in the Spotlight range, including PCs Fresnels Floods, and some of the Profiles, From 650 Watt lanterns, up to 5000 Watts.Yes the TV boys have been doing this for years, but one feature that the Spotlight pole op yokes have, is a clutch, that enables manual focusing of the light, with out needing to turn the adjustment cup, so when you can get access to the light, you can focus it like a normal lantern. (On normal pole op units, you have to turn the cup, or risk damaging the mechanism.) Should anybody have any questions, please feel free to drop me an email or give me a call, and I can send you a Data Sheet. Alternatively if you wish to try it out yourself, We will have some units on Stand 138, Lawrence Hall at ABTT Yours
