grahamrobertslx
Can you colour low fog smoke fluid with something like green food colouring to produce a green fog??
csg
only if you want a green floor, feet, shoes..... ( based on my past experience with LeMaitre coloured smoke pyro's)
iainhewitt
That sounds like a great way to ruin a fogger I'm afraid. If I remember correctly foggers work by aerosolising the fluid and creating tiny clear droplets, and no strongly coloured fog has ever been successfully produced, IMO your best and easiest bet is to use a green light on the fog, it does carry colour pretty well in that way. As csq said, coloured smoke pyro's are another good option! Iain Hewitt
grahamrobertslx
ive used the smoke pyros before and I know what you mean. trying to think of other liquids you could use to try and colour smoke fluid
jamed2017
I once read a horror story on here about coloured smoke destroying a show covering the cast and the curtains in red. If you want to colour the fog use lights or your asking for disasster.
Ynot
...trying to think of other liquids you could use to try and colour smoke fluidThere is a reason why smoke machine companies don't offer coloured smoke as an option...So if THEY don't, what on earth makes anyone think that as a comparitive amatuer in the field of smoke chemistry they can simply add some colouring to the fluids and have it work....?? WiLL
A few floorparcans with green gel shooting just above the floor would do the trick nicely. Or shins if you are lucky enough to have proper lighting booms. I really wouldn't add anything of yor own devising to a smoke/fog/haze machine, it's a good way to clog the machine. Ynot
Paulears, that is an AWSOME shot! Your creative ways?I'd say low level (floor mounted) lanterns for the purple 'undercurrunt' and the red coming from those suspiciously red coloured side lanterns on the booms...:PAnd judging by the rise at the front of the stage (RH side of shot) the fog is chilled smoke rather than dry ice. paulears
Nearly, Tony. Oddly, the top light was blue from washlights and some Robe 700s throwing blue gobos, and just red from the side - there aren't any below the reds at all, the blue is bounce from the top lighting - works really well - with the low down boom sidelighting bashing the Glaciator fog , the thinner areas then glow blue.
