baxted02 Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 Hi All,I'm in need (quite urgently) of some DMX Lighting Control software, ideally free that'll work with an Enttec Open DMX USB device. I like Stage Console a lot and have been using that but need to find something that's as easy to use, but will let you program chases into cue's or subs. Does anybody have any recommendations or know of something that might do the job? Thanks in advance...
HobitLight Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 Chamsys's MagicQ is a very powerful piece of software which is will expand with you if you need to in the future! The software is free to download off the site, so you can have it working tonight if you need to, as you say you're in urgent need of it!
back_ache Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 http://members.westnet.com.au/rowanmac/opendmx.html List lots of info about the interface and software for it, it even has a hack to all you to run four of them simultaneously!
Joe Bleasdale Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 Another option would be Vector PC. The Entec DMX over ethernet will work with Vector PC and output 1 universe. It does cost more than the USB version (150 euros more) But this will also carry you into the future, the software is feature packed and can handle channels, fixtures, media servers and LEDs with no issues at all. Because this runs on a normal windows computer, you can add hardware when you need it. Maybe a touchscreen and then an Eport to expand upto 4 universes. http://www.compulite.com/index.php?page_id=265 Best Regards,
Wol Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 The Entec DMX over ethernet will work with Vector PC and output 1 universe. The OP did specifically say the Open DMX USB, not the ethernet version though....? To the OP: If you have a look on the ENTTEC website product page, last time I looked there was a list of different software that it works with. Might be worth a look through as the list had quite a few entries in as far as I remember. Do you have any other specific requirements other than being able to program chases and things onto submasters? Control of movers, control of LED fixtures? I'll obviously suggest MagicQ (http://download.magicq.co.uk), which will work with the ENTTEC Open DMX USB device, as well as giving you all the power of a professional lighting desk. If you do need to expand your setup to include a physical control surface, rather than just an on-screen PC solution with a DMX interface, then you can purchase our playback wings and interfaces as your requirements grow. You can download it for free from the link I posted above, and if you have any problems, you can either drop us an email (support@chamsys.co.uk), or there are enough people on here who would be able to help you too.
matt-the-dj Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 I think you can use freestyler, its free and easy to use,it might be a option for you.I use it with no problems, it even has the option of midi control.regardsmatt.
doocy56 Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 I use four kinds of DMX fixtures at same time on Enttec Open so I really need a software similar to LJ in which I can create user palletes for colours, gobos, shutter... Can anyone help? Thnx!
