Samwise
Hi All, Just a quick one, I've got a a sennheiser EW300 G2 Handheld mic that won't turn on for some reason, the battaries are good and the contacts appear to be good also. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas I could try? If not could someone reccomend a decent place to get it repaired? Thanks. Sam.
Wilflet
not to sound patronising or anything, but your definitely putting the battery in the right way around? (we've all done it)
TimmyP1955
not to sound patronising or anything, but your definitely putting the battery in the right way around? (we've all done it) Likely just a random failure. These things happen :-( Hey, at least it wasn't made by Lucas :-) Send it to the main Sennheiser repair center for the UK, as they should be the most likely to fix it rightly on the first try. Samwise
Hi Guys, A question worth asking but no, I can confirm the batteries are correctly orientated. I'll give Sennheiser a buzz then thanks! Sam.
parky58
I got one fixed with a faulty on/off swich a few monthes ago. Sennheiser charged £65 plus vat. This apparently is a standard repair charge (but don't quote me). Steve
Rob_Beech
Yes, this is a fixed price repair. It's very good and fast turnaround too. However, try poking a bit harder on the switch, it may be that the rubber switch has broken, they are available as a spare part, can't remember the number off hand. sj2as
I've had the rubber switches break a number of times, Sennheiser will replace but as someone says above it's a bit pricey.
Rob_Beech
A bit pricey is a relative thing isn't it. If the capsule is broken, the screen is showing dead pixels, the button doesn't work properly and the battery cover is cracked, then £65+vat is a bloody good deal. If it's just a button then yes, it is likely much cheaper to source a replacement part and fix it yourself. I replace antenna on beltpacks frequently. A quick screwdriver (star) and a soldering iron really and a few pounds for a replacement. It's not something I would send off to the manufacturer to repair. But if all of a sudden it stopped transmitting then it has to be worth £65. I've got 6 or 7 "on the bench" so to speak at the moment, some I'll fix, the rest I'll get around to sending off. It's been a very demanding season for the wireless stuff. Damage report will probably amount to about £1000, but then the turnover from it is likely 50 times this.
