sleah Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 Well, that seems to be just a load of waffle about managing bands, that we don't really need to know until they make the changes, they just need to tell us what to do once the change is made. I don't think it actually makes a great deal of difference how the beaurocrats operate providing they clearly set out what which hoops we, as users, need to jump through. The crux of the whole matter that has been the centre of many a heated debate hasn't changed; they are STILL going ahead and forcing us out of CH69 and by the end of 2012**, which we have known all along.Who the heck cares about weather there is a 'Band Manager' and how long they have power? Many of us still face the prosepect of redundant gear and huge bills to change to CH38 regardless of who pushes paper round in an office on a big salary. :D **and even creating a 'them and us' situation by stagering the cut off point!!!! What the hells that about??? Why should some have a 'grace' period because of their postcode? :blink:Probably due to DSO, but will be fun for those who travel the length and breadth of the country

Simon Lewis Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 I also received this mink todayhttp://wildlifemysteries.files.wordpress.com/2009/05/american-mink2.jpg...Sorry Paul! couldn't resist.... A concurrent post has been automatically merged from this point on. Well, I'd suggest the band manager does matter. I have only limited experience of JFMG, but they seem to be very willing to help the PMSE community achieve their goals within the restrictions laid down by OFCOM. If OFCOM take over the band management now, surely it pretty much kills off JFMG? Apart from all the equipment worries we have, I would not want to see Band Management used as a source of potential "endless revenue" by some get rich quick merchants. Simon
KevinS Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 "1.2 In December 2007, we concluded the long-term interests of PMSE users would best be served if they moved to a market-based approach to spectrum." .....or to put it another way - He who pays wins. I wonder whose submissions that conclusion was based on. KS
