yeletah Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 I need to buy a windows laptop to run MA onpc as alas there's not yet a Mac version. Does anyone know the minimum system requirements? I can't find any system requirements info on the MA website (but then I have been drinking cider...)
Avalon93 Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 Hi, on my Acer 5920G (2.5 GHz Dual Core) it runs very well, but I got some problems with the screen size (there are some buttons on the bottom of the screen that remain out of the screen... the GrandMA's window is too high for my screen, a 1280-800).
Illuxit Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 quote "the GrandMA's window is too high for my screen, a 1280-800). " This is not the case. You just need to maximize the window, and it will fit;) I run on anything from 1024x720 to 1366x768. You can also use the "cover desktop" option on the onpc Basically any vista-compatible pc will do on the onpc, but I woud strongly reccomend a xp o.s. Then you can use the Behringer BCF2000 as a faderwing aswell. (they cost aprox 200£). Get a used tablet pc and you'll also have the touch-interface. Avoid a win7 if you can. At least the 64-bits. They're only trouble intergrating BCF's and other nice apps;) Are you using the MA-node btw?
Flyingwysiwyg Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 Hi, Just for anyone else browsing this. I run both versions of MA onPC within parallels on a MacBook Pro with no problems whatsoever. I am running a standard version of XP. The only thing I would say is if you are using OnPC with the console you need to enable bridged networking on parallels and set a static ip address. sirrus Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 +1 for parallels or indeed for VMWare. The advantage of the above being that you can run Windows along side Mac natively. Another option would be to use Bootcamp that should be preinstalled on your Mac. I think both offer a trial based period to try the software, so could try before you buy so to speak. Just make sure your using an Intel based Mac! Peter,
