padraigdarcy Posted April 8, 2010 Posted April 8, 2010 Hi guys, can anyone recommend the HK Premium Pro 12 full range loudspeakers (Passive) or can you tell me how they compare to the RCF ART series of speakers (also 12" and Passive)? This would be for a new PA system for gigs with the focus mainly being on solidly reproduced vocals and accompaniment tracks and for audiences of not more than 200. Any 'inputs or feedback' would be very welcomed!! Cheers.
Bobbsy Posted April 8, 2010 Posted April 8, 2010 The HK Premium Pro are new enough that I haven't heard them, but mention of HK has reminded me of something that might work for you. Have a look at the HK LUCAS "SMART" system which'll be two tops, a sub and all your amplification in one. I've used several variants of the LUCAS range in the past and have always been very impressed by the sound quality, particularly the smooth reproduction of vocals, in a very small box. I've always taken great pleasure when the punters ask me if the sound is really coming from "that tiny box". Reading between the lines, I suspect you'll be a "one man band" and your back will thank you every time you load in something this small that will still handle the rooms you describe. The price I've linked to includes stands, leads and the lot. If you could stretch your budget, the LUCAS "Performer" is even better and could do bigger rooms yet. The RCF range is also very well though of by Blue Roomers and I have no doubt that people will be along to tell you about them soon. Bob
padraigdarcy Posted April 8, 2010 Author Posted April 8, 2010 Yip, pretty much a one man self contained act. Something like the LUCAS Performer would be ideal ... only for the price. I'd love to get a system like that 'down the road', as they say. I should have mentioned my budget for the loudspeakers is about £1000 - 1200, depending on whether they're active or not. I think I'd prefer a passive system starting off though but course I'm well open to suggestion..
