Sarson
Anyone out the familiar with Yamaha digital snakes? I was using one recently with an M7CL and had an indicated problem which I did not understand. Every so often a warning came up saying "Connection with head amps lost". The desk seemed to be OK and there was no loss of signal (although I was not using phantom at the time) but if I looked at the head amp page under 'Racks' the little red 48v indicators had greyed out. Then warning would go off and all would be well again. The snake was set up in redundant mode, so I doubt it was the cable. Any thoughts?

I don't know what caused the problem, but it would seem to be just the control communications. There should be no audio issues, but while the fault exists you won't be able to make any changes in level or phantom status to the HAs. Any thoughts?Hi, Can you let us have some more info, was it MADI, Ethersound, Cobranet? What were the model number of the hardware, and firmware versions of the desk / stageboxes? Also what type and length of cable? I'm guessing Ethersound using SB168's, and I'd suspect a cable length / type issue, but let me have some more info and I'll try to help out. Also odd things can happen in ring mode, or if you use an ethernet switch / hub. We use Ethersound on a daily basis ( SB168's and NAI48ES/AD8HR ) without any issues so far. Regards Oliver.
