LAMP RESET

I have just acquired a second hand Dell projector for personal use. All seems fine with it but after installing a new lamp it won't reset in the OSD menu. It powers up and displays fine for maybe three minutes and then most of the colour goes from the picture. Any ideas?

I can't narrow it down to any of the internal electrics beacuse I've never come across this before maybe someone has the answer. But something to check is that the fan and the filter is clean. I only say this because the projector's second hand. A blockage in the filter can lead the projector to overheat. If the projector overheats it can play hell with the electrics inside which is not healthy for its life expectancy.

Hi Sean, welcome to the Blue Room ;)

Since we deal more with technical theatre and entertainment topics, rather than domestic/ home theatre projectors and the like, you may find you get better or quicker advice at one of the home theatre/ av forums out there.
