Hi all

I've been toying with the idea of buying as new set of active tops for DJ use for a couple of months now and tied it down to:

RCF 712A

FBT Maxx4A

QSC K12

All are similar prices and all are very good speakers imo. For service & back-up RCF probably wund hands down but I suspect the better unit will be the QSC.

What would other members pick out of the 3 above.

PS I can't afford the RCF 722A!!

Hi Eastcoast,

IMO - RCF's all the way, I would think that there is not a great deal in it sound wise between the QSC and RCF, only heard the FBT's a couple of times at small gigs, so not really had time to listen to them properly but one thing that I find is RCF always seem to be very well built and like you say the service and back up is superb. I have 3 pairs of 722-a and even though I had a couple that started to play up, RCF said that they had found that a batch of pcb's did have a fault on. I let their service centre have my serial numbers and the guy said that they were part of the batch so bring them down and they replaced them while I waited.

In my opinion most things will at sometime go wrong thats life but the service and support you get to fix the problem makes a big difference. I have just placed an order for 2 pairs of 710-a as have been running a few pairs of 310-a which have been excellent but now want to see if the 710-a extra power makes much difference.

RCF as I said for me.
