flight case with rear port for cables

we need to look at replacing our 23U rack, and don't need the mixer variant which is good news.

We want one with front and rear door, but is it possible to (relatively off the shelf) have a port in the rear door allowing easy cable pass through?

Our existing rack also had a IEC connector on the rear which would power the whole rack ... I am guessing that that is very bespoke?

ah yes ... that would make sense.

We "have" to run everything of three 13a sockets, and everything else uses standard three pin plugs so would rather keep in the family so to speak!

PowerCon would be easier to put in though, thats for sure

there are plenty of rack-mountable power connection strips available "off the shelf" with powercon, 13A or IEC connectors so that you can run the rack off one plug, leaving all the components in the rack permanently plugged in to the strip.(dependant on the combined current requirements of the equipment, of course). canford is a good starting point for what's available.

my preference is usually for removable front and back covers for ease of access and good airflow, but putting a hatch into the rear cover is a relatively simple carpentry job and would keep things tidy

Hi

Any flightcase manufacturer should be able to do whatever you want.

Most cases are made up to order.

Try the flightcase warehouse, I have used them numerous times, fast service and quality product.

Its not going to be too hard to remember that one lead is a 13a to speakon and the other 13a to IEC.... just a much more reliable connector for this use!

Have a look at at sse for flightcases, http://www.sseaudiogroup.com/sse_products/...se_products.asp my last case was from there and is build like a tank! (well.... you know what I mean!)
