zachhwilliams
Hi, I am a student and I used to plan my shows using Daslight, just so I could get an idea of what the lighting would look like if I positioned them in certain places and planning the scenes, but now I have switched to Mac. Is there an alternative program like Daslight, with a virtual simulator that is available for Mac? Many Thanks,Zach

simschr
CueLux has a Mac version, as does Magic Q from ChamSys. If you expand your situation further I'm sure we'd be able to give better advice. What are you wanting to control? Which packages have you used previously? Chris

Chris Basically, I used to play around with Daslight software (http://www.daslight.com/softwares.php) and expeirment with different types of lighting, positioning the lights etc... I wouldn't use them in real life, but I like to use the software so I can plan my projects, and get ideas for what I could use for the actual production. Hope this helps. simschr
Have you tried Wine for OS X? You may have luck and find Daslight runs? Natively I am not aware of any free packages for Mac which feature a visualiser. Hope this helps, Chris
