So, A&H have brought out a baby desk / mix rack in this series...

I appreciate it's early days yet, but does anyone (i.e. dealers) have an idea of the target price for this?

Otherwise, I'll start phoning around...

I spotted that last night on their site. I'd expect it to be a bit more than then LS9-16 becuase of the enhanced facilities there but if they can get it close to the yammy's price, it should do exceptionally well.

Sonicstate.com have this:

Pricing and Availability:

The iDR-16 and iLive-R72 will be available from February 2010 at SRP:

iLive-R72 £5114 + VAT

iDR-16 £2983 + VAT

Which is about £2k more than the Roland M380 with one S 1608 box. Without knowing more about the A&H, I'm not sure if that's a fair product to compare, but it looks close :P

There is rumoured pricing on the AH discussion forum here;

I too am quite interested (though have no money!).

There are only 8 input faders by the look of it on this model, which I started off being a bit worried about - I know that digital mixing is all about layers, but I think there comes a line when too many layers and too few faders is reached.

That said, there is another topic on that discussion board about using a midi moving faders desk such as the behringer BCF2000 to add extra moving faders, which might be an option.

Yeah, but isn't it worth the extra £2k to get A&H pre-amps?

The Roland has an attractive price, but it's not really comparable sound wise to the A&H budget iLive range; which has better pre-amps than the more expensive again Yamaha M7CL.

I think that this is a 'niche' fill in product - with the surface being rack mountable, if desired. It will start shipping late Feb/March.

The next size up (T80 surface and IDR32 rack) - is only a bit more expensive and will give you more inputs and outputs. However all of the iLive components are fully compatible with each other - so there is plenty of potential flexibility available by mixing and matching.

I have supplied an iLive T112 surface and IDR48 to a local venue - which has been very well received, by visiting Engineers as well as the in house staff. All reports of the 'sound' are very favourable, with several saying that their PA systems have never sounded better!

If anyone in my vicinity (Exeter) would like a demonstration - this can be arranged - and in early March there will be an exhibition in the Phoenix Arts Centre Exeter, where it is hoped to show off the whole range. PM me - or e-mail me via my Web site if you would like more details, or I can help in any way.

The exhibition I refered to in the last message is the Analogue to Digital Expo 2010 and will be held in the Exeter Phoenix Arts Centre (located in the heart of the City) - on Saturday March 6th.

It was held for the first time last year at the end of the long running Vibraphonic Festival - and was a huge success.

More info available on their Web site:
