Performing Musician mag dies

Sad to read of the demise of this mag - not exactly cutting edge, but a good light read, and not overwhelmed with details of each and every new software plug-in sound. Details here, but it seems as if advertising revenue just wasn't enough...

Shame really - I found it had some interesting interviews and articles that probably wouldn't appear anywhere else - for example, this months backstage at "We will rock you"

On the upside, I was trying to decide whether to renew my subscription in april or not - decision has been made for me!

I didn't renew mine two months ago - still like SOS, but Performing Musician was trying too hard to be all things at once. Sad thing is that this is their second attempt - they had another similar one a few years ago, and that had the same death - can't remember the exact name, recording musician? Not sure.

I must say that even SOS is moving away from me - too much content that I'm not interested in, and I rarely read it cover to cover like I used to. I'll give SOS another year and see how it goes.

There was Sound On Stage a long time back as well.
