chrisman
Hi, I recently got a Behringer XENYX 1832FX and was checking that everything worked (as I bought it on ebay) and as far as I can tell everything seems to work. But I'm new to mixing desks and I've tried to add an effect to a channel (it has many in built effects) and I haven't managed to get it to work. If anyone has this desk or thinks they can help it would be much appreciated. Chrisman
gareth
You'll have an FX send level control on each channel strip - which works just like an aux send except that it goes directly to the FX processor instead of to a connector to get the signal out of the desk. Chances are it'll be post-fade, so it won't go anywhere unless you also have the channel fader up. There may also be an FX send master level control which governs the overall level going into the FX section. To get the signal back out, you'll probably have a control somewhere labelled FX Return. Might just be a small rotary pot that goes straight to the main mix, or it might be another complete channel strip (or anything in between!) - in which case you may need to route it to the outputs in the same way that you would a normal channel. MarkPAman
Behringer are good at putting their manuals on the web in a way that's easy to find. Unlike some companies that seem to want to put them where it takes 5 minutes to find them. (Sorry OT rant) Download from here
Just Some Bloke
Gareth is, of course, right. Use the "FX" knob to set the level from the channel, the "Aux Send FX" master to set the level into the FX section then the "Stereo Aux Return FX" control to set the level coming back into the mix. Ensure the channel is not muted and that the channel fader is up. Let us know if that doesn't work.
gareth
Gareth is, of course, right.Which is lucky, really, as it was all guesswork! I've never used one of the Behringer desks that the OP is asking about, but from a Googled picture it looks very similar to a Soundcraft FX16 so I figured the procedure would be broadly similar :D. chrisman
Hey guys!Sorry for super late reply. Thanks for the help, turns out it was just one button I had to press. There was a button labled ''main'' next to the effects slider. That sent it to the main mix and fixed it, thanks again. Chrisman
