Mexi
Just wondering if there would be any feasibility in extended the Next Generation to something along the lines of "Next Generation and amateurs" I never really know where to ask questions. I know there are amateur forums, but it always seems best to ask a question here because there is more chance of a current and correct answer being given. I do not like posting in the main forums as I am aware that terminology is not always going to be correct.
gareth
I wouldn't worry about the terminology not being quite on-the-money, Mexi. It's what you're asking/posting that's the important bit, not the nuances of the terminology! Next Generation exists purely as a means of getting all the "at my skool" sort of chatter out of the main forum and into its own little corner. The main technical sections of the forum are as open to amateur practitioners as they are to professional ones. The questions posted by am-dram people are often just as relevant to those working in certain spheres of the professional theatre world.
Ynot
I'd agree with Gareth's reply. There is very often a HUGE difference between school age contributors and pukka am-dram volunteers. That's not to say we don't sometimes get duff questions (and responses) from amateurs, but to be brutally honest, these are pretty much the exception rather than the rule - as opposed to the NG target audience being the other extreme, unfortunately.
