gunner
Hi, I currently have a strand 300 with 3 mac 500's patched to it. Whilst I can get the shapes into the cue stack, I am unable to start the shape when I want. Currently when I run the cue stack, the auto move in dark automaticly starts the shape in anticipation of the next cue where it is required. Is there any way I can get the shape to start only when I run the next cue which also has the intensity in it.
GridGirl
Turn Auto Move While Dark off, and manually mark all your cues? Or, create a xx.9 cue, with a fade time of 0, identical to the previous cue just prior to the cue where you want them to start moving, and put a wait of 0 or 0.1 seconds on it, so that it runs your correct cue automatically. That way you don't have to disable Auto Move While Dark (which is a good thing!) but you won't get them moving for the entire cue before you want them. You may want to tell the SM/DSM so that they can alter the call in their book though because otherwise if someone else has to operate the show, confusion will reign supreme! jfguedes
Hi, I Haven't tried it, but it should work, if you just put the moving lights at 01% in the previous Q. That way the AMWD can't start. Hope it works João Guedes
Glyn Edwards
That way you don't have to disable Auto Move While Dark (which is a good thing!) Personally I think that automove is the work of the devil and should be switched off permanantly. The ideal solution if you've got the programming ability and time is to put all the mark cues in manually, so that you / the LD / Programmer / board op have total control of when and how the fixtures behave, rather than letting the desk decide when is a good time to move them. (Usually in the noisiest possible way at the quietest point in the show). This way you also ensure that in a fast sequence the moves have completed before the next cue is called and the unit is ready, rather than still resetting and then fading in live, which defeats the point of Automove. The alternative work around is to consider the possibility of setting the movers to 1% intensity in the preceeding cue(s). This way automove won't touch them as they still have an intensity value, but there will be so little coming out the front end that the chances are it won't affect your state.
