melkin
Hey guys. I have just had delivered at work 2 of the new stage electrics QMAXZ QME700P moving lights. I have got them rigged in the position they're going to, ran DMX to them and addressed them to the addresses I want them to be on the unit itself, got them working from the unit itself but dont know how to connect them to our desk which is a Strand 520i so I can control them from there. Does anybody know how to or can anybody offer any advice at all. Many thanks Mark

gareth
You need to patch them as fixtures - the Strand manual (or the console help pages) will tell you how to do this. The problem you'll encounter is that there definitely isn't a fixture definition in the default console software for these units, and I'll be very surprised if Strand (or Selecon, or Phillips, or whoever the hell they are these days!) have one for download from their website - so unless you can find someone who already has one which they can let you have a copy of, you're going to have to edit the FIXTURE.LIB file on the console to add the fixture in yourself. Not a trivial matter, but something that's well-documented, both in the console manual and help files, and on this very forum. Put some suitable search terms into the Google search box (up there in the top-right corner) and I'm sure you'll find lots of useful stuff.
