Hi just wanted to see if anyone has any advice for a show im working on next week, it may be that I already know what the answer is going to be but thought I would ask anyway.

Right working on a devised student production in the students union, static club rig, cant move anything around or change gels cus theres an event on after. I've only so far got the script, and am having to pick out sound fx from it, and LX is going to be done on the day, of which im opping both from the dj booth (go team), I know the desk is a frog of some description, and the union has movers and LED screens and some pars,

In terms of the rig, there is a number of parcans around the rig pointing in various different locations, none of them on the stage, 4 moving heads similar to MAC250+, 4 uv canons, 4 LED screens a couple of strobes and thats about it, none of which can be moved and the stage isnt going to be in the usual place where the union has a stage

any ideas?

Stephen

Without knowing what you've got in terms of this fixed rig, I think the answer will be something like "How on earth do you expect us to know?"

I'd be tempted to record submasters in terms of colour and/or stage area, and see what I could busk from that. Beyond that... what do you expect to be told?

Moderation: There have been some comments about this topic, but as he's a new member - I guess we shouldn't be too surprised he doesn't know how we work.

To Mickey - what you basicaly said is you need to do a show, can't touch anything, and none of the lights are focused on the stage. The only hope are the movers, but you've told us nothing about what they are or what control there is. There really isn't much point in being a little iffy with peoplewho may be able to help - after all, how can we when you've not provided the info we need to make any sensible comment.

Fill us in if you want decent replies.
