malleable
I play the vibraphone, and use two microphones to amplify it. I want to run those two microphones (XLR) into a Boss guitar effects pedal board, which has only a single 1/4" TRS input. I would assume a DI-box is what I need? Suggestions anyone? Probably need phantom power too?
Jivemaster
Two low impedance mics into a high impedance guitar pedal may not give the effect you want even after you combine them passively or actively
paulears
no - a DI is no use here - they reduce the line level signal to microphone level. What you need is really a small mixer, to get tmic level up to something that will go into your pedal board - although being optimised for guitars, the vibraphone may be a challenge - there are small mixers that built in effects that might be better - but, the small mixer will do. To be honest, much depends on what the rest of the system is like. Guitar 'tuned' kit often has very non-flat response - but if you are currently running mics through it, you know what it sounds like.
