Edinburgh shows

For reasons best left unexplored, I'm now involved in planning our Edinburgh trip for next year (2005), I've done loads of single venue theatre, and some limited touring, but need some advice about the whole Edinburgh thing. I've been twice with shows but only ever as tech operator.

 

So to the real question, are there any tips, hints absolute rules that people would say I need to know, and above all, how much should I set as the minimum (just as a guide we will be taking 9 people in total).

The first thing I would have to say is to book any hire equipment as early as you can. at this time of year its impossible to find anything quickly up here. The second thing is advertise your show as much as possible, Because of the huge number of shows on you are in severe competition with other venues which may be as close as next door. Final point is Don't take the festival too seriously, have fun.
