BenHowitt
Hi all, Not sure where to put this topic, and apologies if I've put this into the wrong place, but here goes. I've been asked to provide a list of things to order to bring an old school hall up to date. I'm thinking a Jester 48, since that's pretty much all they'll need, but they have 4 old 6-channel dimmers, which I'm loathe to get rid of. Has anybody had any experience with the use of the DMX - Analogue 24 convertors, or know of somewhere where I can source one for little money? I've had a look on Google, but haven't found anything cheap enough in England, Thanks in advance,Ben
Blaize110
My school have just done this with a Jester 24 and have been happy with the 72 channel demux from Thomann (not UK but postage only took a few days). You just need to wire up a 25 pin parallel -> 4 x DIN adapter and a euro->UK adapter or chop off the plug and add a UK one. However if memory serves, there are one or more topics in the Blueroom archives that some searching may dig up
david.elsbury
If you're not already, search for a "demux". They should be relatively cheap...
skippy
I've been using elation's DMX Multi-data pak. They're cheap and easy and, so far, dependable. My $0.02...

adamharman
If you're looking for a UK supplier, CPC and lighting partners both stock them. Lots of other places do the same unit under various names, that's just a couple that I use regularly. www.cpc.co.uk search for demux www.stagelighting.co.uk control > signal processing > budget > scroll to bottom
tommulliner
Our school, before it became all DMX, had a Zero 88 Demux 48. It will do the job you want it for. Just give it a search on the web, you'll find it. Alternativly, contact your local hire and installations guys, pretty sure they will know where to get one, if they dont already have one. Tom. PaulDF
What make are the old dimmers? Do you know what analogue control voltage they run on?It probably won't matter if you get one which you can set the outputs on.
