Tekn0jt
Hello Blue Room, I work at a night club in Norfolk, VA called The Granby Theater and one of my co-workers recently made a mistake by purchasing 6 half working Roboscan Pro 518s... either I'm a really big noob or they all broke in the same fashion. The problem is that all 6 of em only pan... is there something im missing that im supposed to be doing to get them to pan and tilt or do you think that they are physically busted...Im more of a sound guy but I know my DMX routing and all that jazz. Im using Light Jockey. Any Help would be appreciated
Mr Steve
Swap the pan and tilt connectors over inside and see if they then only tilt. Do they tilt when they calibrate?
JohnMac
It may be the one or more of wires to the tilt motors have fractured. Disconnect the motor and the header (connector) to the PCB, with a straighted metal paper-clip as probes check that each wire has zero ohms. If one or more are open circuit replace all four wires.RegardsJohn Mac.
niclights
Seems a bit unlikely all would have that same fault. Do they tilt when calibrating after switching on, or if you put them in demo/sound to light?
gyro_gearloose
It sounds like the units are set to 16-bit pan and tilt while your software is set to 8-bit pan and tilt (or vice versa). This would create the problem as the DMX channel used by the software for pan/tilt will be different from the DMX channel that the units expect pan/tilt to be on.
