Mark M
As Im just getting into this I have no idea where are some reasonable priced outlets to buy mic cables and stands? I'm going to need at least a half dozen of each by Monday but that should be plenty of time?
J Pearce
Studiospares are good for both. Have a good think about what quality of mic stand you want and need first though.
Pete Alcock
My earnest recommendations (both from CPC): These are the most reliable mic cables you will buy for this price. Note there's no crappy "imitation Neutrik cable clamp" - the wire's moulded in. I've got loads of these and NONE have failed. It has a big adjustment knob (unlike the Studiospares ones) and a heavy alloy boss that the legs fit into. Very sturdy indeed. I modify mine as soon as I get them, by 1. Greasing all the adjustment knobs, so they're smooth and never strip threads, and 2. Loctite the boom bit onto the stand, and the 5/8 adaptor on to the boom. http://cpc.farnell.com/productimages/farnell/standard/ST0130807-30.jpg CPC Pulse mic stand Pete.
