Boltonguy
Hi folks. We are a 5 peice function band who have been using an NJD quartet lighting rig for a few years now. this consists of 2 lighting units, cables and q-pedal. having a few problems with the q-pedal and before we buy a new pedal we were wondering if there is anything similar in the LED world. We have seen some LEDJ Stratos wash or spot lights which seem nice. It would be great not to worry about getting enough power from the venue. But these dont seem to have a foot controller which is what we would like. These lights are used for lighting the band, not the dance floor. Any suggestions? KevinE
I dont think any of the LEDJ stuff (which is aimed at the mobile DJ..hence the name) will hold a candle to the NJD quartets..they're a 1200W halogen luminaire! If you want this same level of illumination from LED luminaires, you'll have to look very carefully at the pro stuff...another forum member with experience at this end of the market will soon post! I haven't seen any 'DJ grade' leds that I've really liked for band illumination without using loads of it. I'm currently programming some fixed band lighting for a new bar that has 10 LEDJ 10mm PAR64 cans and to be honest they'd have been better off with 4 real PAR56's. If you go for the LED stuff, you can get DMX foot controllers easy enough such as the Trancension Footster at around the 80 quid mark or the Showtec Lightfoot at around £110. Boltonguy
Thanks.I will have a look at the foot pedals. I did see 1 X LEDJ stratos wash at a bar in Bolton. Gave off a tremendous amount of light on the dance floor. I was very impressed with it.
