Boltonguy
Hi folks. picked up some RCF Art 7 tops and subs from PMT and saw the new PV20USB desk. Looks a nice rugged simple desk and the review in Professional Musician said it was a good desk. Currently running the 5 piece function band thru an oldish Soundcraft FX16. Does anyone have any experience on the PV20USB at all? Seems to have great preamps and effects arent too bad at all. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. I know that the Peavey doesnt have PFL on it which is a shame but I could work with that.
J Pearce
I'd stick with the FX16. If for no other reason than its got pfl and the Peavey hasn't. Doing live sound without pfl is a recipe for disaster, been there, done that.
Sound Man
Same here, stick with the Soundcraft. The Peavey only has a basic fixed frequency EQ. I'm supprised Peavey didn't include PFL on a 16 channel mixer. David

Boltonguy
Just an update. I used this desk for a gig over the weekend. I was very impressed with it. great sound and ever so simple. full 5 piece band going through it for 400 people. think I will buy one. and I can hear everyone sighing now ha ha. you have to admit tho, although we all hate peavey, they do do good solid gear
david.elsbury
you have to admit tho, although we all hate peavey, they do do good solid gear Do they? Do ya reckon the Peavey will hold up to years of being dragged around on the road like an A&H or a Soundcraft would do?
Boltonguy
Well the build quality of the PV20 does seem better than my Soundraft FX16 yes. Plus I always get Gator bags for my desks A concurrent post has been automatically merged from this point on. Plus I also had to get the lexicon effects fixed on the FX16 2 years ago. the desk was only 2 years old.
