fredfish
We have a CDS Lan Box LCX computer DMX interface, but the software bundled with it is rather complex and clunky for the casual user or non lampy type such as me. I have already tried several alternative bits of software including offerings from chromakinetics and most of the others available as listed in the lighting FAQ, but these seem to have compatibility issues even when using the Lan Box in usb mode. Does anyone know of a simple piece of control software which will work porperly with the above interface? requirements are the most basic, a virtual 24 or 48 channel memory board would be a good start, with any additional features a bonus. Hi, The Lanbox is not an interface as such, it's more like a middle of the range standalone lighting desk except without a control surface. For what its worth, you're right about the clunky-ness, it's redeeming feature is that once its programmed, it runs by itself, in my case using Midi Show Control. For what you want to do, I would put it on fleabay and instead buy an interface more widely supported(as to which one, you'll find it widely discussed in other topics on this forum.) dbuckley
Yeah, the LanBoxes are a pretty specialised piece of kit, in the correct application they are almost without peer, but if all you want is a simple lighting desk, well, yep, its not a useful tool...
