tom_the_LD
Hi guys, Been using a Pearl this week and wanted to do a mode 2 chase - which I'm sure they showed on the course when I did it a year and a while ago, but I can't remember how on earth to do it! In a memory you can just type 2 just before you chose the sub to save it to, but I can't see the option for in a chase. Basically I want to do a shutter chase across 4 movers, then when I bring the fader back down to 0 the shutters to be open as they were before the chase commenced. Or similarly if I create my own pan/tilt chase to be able to adjust the size/speed on the fader myself - rather than use the shape generator. It's a Pearl 2010, but is using the 2008 software. Thanks for all the help guys. Cheers Tom
indyld
Tom Sounds like you are looking to record a dimmer saw effects using the Shape Gen, rather than an actual chase, to use mode 2 for the best effect ( giving you fader position control of size / speed) Select fixtures - Shape Generator - Dimmer Saw (set size, spread etc) - Memory (by channel) 2 (gives you mode 2) then Swop button. Go to Shape Gen, Playback Parameters then toggle Size or Speed to fixed or timed. I don't suppose there is any reason that you can't save mode 2 to actual Chase steps but I can't think why you might want to at the moment. tom_the_LD
What would be really great would bea something like a shutter saw, but I couldn't see one of those. I guess I could do it with a dimmer saw, although I am still intrigued as to whether I am imagining things or not!
niclights
Mode2 is not possible in chases. The solution would be to use shutter shape. None exist so you would have to create one. Examine sg.dat. If you don't understand then search the Avo forum. I've covered the subject enough! In Titan you can currently use release mask to solve this.
