hughcw
Hi. Sorry if this is in the wrong forum. I am trying to build a simple system by which I can raise and lower two different back cloths on a school stage. Preferably this would be 12V DC and self built. The idea would be so that I can change from a 'sea' backdrop to a 'wood' backdrop. any ideas would be much appreciated. thanks, HughW
Roderick
Hi Hugh, welcome to the Blue Room. You are at the right forum but to even start thinking about solutions, the forum will need much more information. For starters:- What is the size of the cloths?- What material are the cloths?- How high is the stage?- How much wing space is there?- How do you currently change between the cloths? And it would be very helpful if you could provide a bit more information in your profile. That makes it easier to give suitable, realistic information. hughcw
We are currently quite early in the design cycle, so I'm not entirely sure about the material and size of the cloths. The Stage is about 3 metres high and 4m wide, with next to no wing space. However, given the director does not want to use the main stage area, just the outer area, I was planning to put some floodlights in to light it from behind, meaning the stage area would be out of use. Currently we change between cloths using a stage hand and a light string put through some eyes on the ceiling. HughW Hi Hugh, welcome to the Blue Room. JDLX
Do they have to be raised and lowered? Could you not use a tab track or wipe track ?
