Headlong
Hi, I've seen some mixed reviews regards the practicalities (or otherwise) of the Chauvet MiN Scan/Spot LED moving head fixtures but I wonder how effective they'd be in a small band situation? Please remember that a) budget is an issue and b) we're lucky if we get a 20ft x 10ft space to play in!!! They'd be used to compliment 8 ACME PAR64 panels for washes and 4 Abstract colour changers for effect lighting, all running frm MagicQ PC. I am aware that they have limitations but hopefully someone with first hand knowledge can let me know if we'd simply be asking too much from a fixture that can't deliver. Thanks in advance
Jamtastic3
If you were to go with any kind of LED head, the X-spot is your better option - it's that little bit brighter as it has one LED source - white 20W LED. If you want a prism and rotating gobos though, then Showtec's Indigo is the way to go....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=69_Z-0agkXI If you're using normal par 64's then your LED heads will be completely washed out. Keep with LED pars with LED heads Remember that these LED heads have a very tight beam angle so to get a good effect from them, you want at least 4 units. Hypersound
Agree with Jamtastic. Bought some Minspots and sold them because they weren't bright enough to be useful, even with other LED fixtures. Now have 8 Indigo 150s and they are a LOT better. They compete OK with 24x1W type cans. Wish I could justify/afford the 250s but not only are they a lot more expensive they are a lot heavier too. Hope that helps.Andy
