Andrew C
Have a look at these neodymium-iron-boron (NdFeB) magnets. I can't think of any specific theatrical uses, but there must be thousands! Super Magnets (Must not buy a "Death Magnet", must resist!)
Simon Lewis
.... I can't think of any specific theatrical uses, but there must be thousands! My JBL loudspeakers use them quite effectively to reduce weight and increase magnetic flux density at the voice coil ;-)

Guest lightnix
I'll warn you: Those spheres - utterly addictive. I've seen people lose entire weekends to them ;)

MrBoomal
I love that web site. I feel there should be a note of caution however. I remember a post a while ago of someone who lost the top of his finger using strong magnets. Remember kids, Elf 'n' safety.
musht
Old hard drives are a good source, T6 Torx or smaller to gain entry, magnets are either side of arm motor coil. Older drives tend to have bigger magnets. Data isn`t coming back after that.... Mate needed to recver dropped spanner from back of dashboard, offered him old HD magnet on string, he laughed, need something bit bigger than that he said, after seeing his 12" Bahco dangling by its tip from engine crane just by the magnet he was convinced. Do mind your fingers ;-) http://www.first4magnets.com/f4222c-216-6m...h-nov-181-p.asp
