skittles
Hello all, have been asked to host a local community craft fair in December in the car park of our pub.It will be a mixture of stalls & gazebos. There needs to be enough light for people to see what they will be buying as well as creating a festive atmosphere. The event is from 4pm - 8pm so lighting is paramount.I have spent the past few days googling for a local company to discuss our requirements with but alas to no avail.Does anyone know of anyone who could maybe help us in the Nottingham area?Have also looked into the possibility of hiring a shed load of Festoon lights but seeing as I am no electrician I am cautious as all I really know what to do is pull pints!Any help would be most gratefully received.Cheers, Julian
chrismca09
If all your after is light and not too look pretty, why not look into tower lighting?

LXbydesign
Simple ideas for this type of gig - some floods and lots of festoons! Looks nice, can all be waetherproof and dosent require much electric. A local supplier will easily be able to source you the kit and it wont be expensive. heinz57
Specialist Theatre Services. Based at Glaisdale Parkway in Nottingham. http://www.specialisttheatreservices.co.uk/index1.html hire@specialisttheatreservices.co.uk0115 9854062 You could also try Stage Electrics. They arn't local to us, (closest is Birmingham I think) but you can obviously still hire from them. Apparently they're supposed to be pretty good http://www.stage-electrics.co.uk/ IMO your best bet is to be using floods Hope this helps Heinz

adamharman
Floods also don't give much of a "festive atmosphere". If you've got to light inside the stalls and gazebos then a load of festoon may be the best bet, although it can be problematic if somebody wants to take down their stall before you take down the lights. Yorkie
Festoons are what I've seen used for this type of event before. As for local help, Panda Hire in Long Eaton can probably sort out what you want. Edit: grammar!

adamharman
Don't know the scale of the event, but as a general comment, it's worth keeping a check on power consumption too. Individual lamps don't use much but if the spacing on the festoon is fairly close, it soon adds up. To be safe, don't put more than 2500w on a 13A plug, and don't put that much on both sides of a double socket or things will get warm.
