PaulDF
Hi - I have been asked to look into getting a couple of brand new followspots. At the moment we have a 2kw fillament type spot which does the job nicely and usually hire a discharge one in for panto season - looking at nStage it could have been the Fal Opera MCC 1.2kw HMI which was also very good. The spots are about 20m away from the stage up on the balcony.Any particular models to look out for which are similar to the Fal Opera MCC? gareth
What's your budget? Robert Juliat are pretty much the dog's danglies when it comes to followspots - but they ain't cheap, so if you're on a budget of £3.78, a couple of penny-washers and a handful of fluffy winegums then there's no point in anyone recommending them. PaulDF
Cheers - that was quick.I'm not sure on budget yet - will probably be a couple of £k but I'm open to suggestions!
GridGirl
I'm a big fan of the new Selecon Performer followspots - they're very bright and the controls have been put in logical places, which I can't say for all followspots! Clicky for info....
PaulDF
Thanks - the Tahi looks more or less what we are after. I'll have to make a few phone calls to find out how much they are.
Big Jay
As Gareth said, RJ are the standard in Theatre, I have used them alot for various types of events including high profile shows and they have never failed. Topaz is a great unit, 1200HMI and list price is 3,956 from AC. Oh!, the Thai lists at £7,
Big Jay
Since I cannot edit my post, I though I should mention that the TOPAZE is £3,639.75 Including VAT at 15% from 10 out of
PaulDF
Excellent, I'll pass the info on. Thanks Paul
Big Jay
If you do get a RJ, I would highly suggest getting a push/pull color frames instead of the boomerang. The boomerang is the standard but is ver clunky and noisy.
