nunny
Hi all Im just wondering if anyone knows the main differences form the Alpha spot 300 to the HPE version, is it just gobo wheels etc or is there optic/output differences Thanks Mike
Davethsparky
From the clay paky website: ALPHA SPOT 300With the same optical, lighting engineering and constructional qualities as the Alpha Spot HPE 300, it is ideal for the most essential applications with contained investment levels. It is fitted with two 8+1 color wheels combinable together, 15 Gobos (8 fixed and 7 rotating), Morphing Effect, RotatingPrism, 0-100% Dimmer on dedicated channel and stop/strobe. And: ALPHA SPOT HPE 300Compact, light, very silent, easy to install and extremely bright (16,000 lux [15°] at 5m), with superior graphic and optical performances, it is the most complete “spot” in its category. 10°-40° Zoom, CMY, 8+1 Color wheel, 15 Gobos (8 fixed and 7 rotating), Morphing Effect, Rotating Prism, Frost, 0-100% Dimmer on dedicated channel, iris and stop/strobe. It's amazing what you can discover when you look at a manufacturer's website or even make use of one of the many search engines out there!
nunny
AS ALWAYS BLUEROOM STRIKES AGAIN Dave I actually did try to find the info from the website and may have missed "With the same optical, lighting engineering and constructional qualities as the Alpha Spot HPE 300" Is that a reason for abuse??? I did do a search and turned up nothing! I bet your a very sad lonely man with an attitude like yours, sorry to everyone else to have to read this, any other forum would have been a nice polite response!!!!!! pathetic! Davethsparky
I apologize if I caused any offense, but may I ask what you searched for? I obtained that information by putting the words 'Alpha spot 300' into google and following the first two links it came up with.
nunny
And im assuming that pointed you directly to Claypaky website, which is where I went to first before I even thought of asking expert advise, I thencompared the 2 fixtures but obviously failed to see the paragraph "With the same optical, lighting engineering and constructional qualities as the Alpha Spot HPE 300" So I thought id ask some expertise help off people who may know the answer Silly me hey! golly im so stupid, who'd have thought to ask a question aon a lighting based forum!! Frag_Me
From the clay paky website: ALPHA SPOT 300With the same optical, lighting engineering and constructional qualities as the Alpha Spot HPE 300, it is ideal for the most essential applications with contained investment levels. It's amazing what you can discover when you look at a manufacturer's website or even make use of one of the many search engines out there! To summarize, based on this info: Dimmer, Gobos, Prism, Strobe, Morphing Effect are the same across both units. The HPE version adds the following features: Zoom, Frosting, CMY Colour Mixing and an Iris.It removes one of the two colour wheels. The HPE is the more feature-filled unit, but this will be reflected in the price. http://www.claypaky.it/download/brochures/...00_(2008)_e.pdf This is the brochure for the entire 300 series of moving lights. From the clay paky website. The first result in google for "Clay Paky 300 Spot." I wouldn't say it's beyond belief that the first reply you got to your question had a little hint of sarcasm to it... Note page 22 where there is a full comparison chart of the whole 300 range.
LXbydesign
We have some Alpha 300's as part of our house rig, and they are great little movers. far better than the "low-end" Martin range I highly regard Clay Paky kit, whichever model / type it is as I think the build quality is top dollar. But in answer to your question, you do get a better beam O/P with the HPE.
