Clay Paky Alpha Spot 300

I have 10 Clay Paky Alpha Spot 300 fixtures, and they are now just about 14 months old and they have seen a lot of use I would estimate it at about 1200-1800 hours per fixture, and these fixtures are installed as a part of the architecture so whatever maintenance I do on them has to be done from a scaffold without removing them because it would be a lot of work to remove them.

so now I'm about to perform some general maintenance on them all, like cleaning the optics and all the gobos and checking the lamps alignment(all of them are now on their 2nd bulb and about to replace them again) since they are installed in a banquet facility there are many times when we use a hazer and so I want to clean all the moving parts and apply fresh grease to them but I could not get a clear answer from any clay paky tech about what kind of grease/lubricant to use, I'm assuming that a high temperature lithium grease would do good but if anybody out there has any suggestions on this topic please let me know.

thanks.

Hi,

The best way would be to contact Clay Paky directly and ask them. service@claypaky.it

Or alternatively, contact a hire company who owns 300's. Off the top of my head I would say Richard Martin Lighting in London would be able to help. They have 300's for the TV world. They are always a great help to me.

Best Regards,

Hi this is a fairly simple one, you don't use any grease. Clean off all the glass, clean off the shafts of the motors and that's about all it should need. The way they (and most fixtures) are put together any sort of grease will just cause problems, they do not need any and have none added when made.
