3guk
Sorry for the two posts in succession, looking for a supplier of compression BNC connectors, just been looking at the tools, and am trying to get hold of a few quotes for both compression BNCs and compression RCAs, got a few projects that they would be very useful on. At the moment I'm getting prices around the £1 - £2 a connector mark when bought in 50s, wondering if there are any (dare I say it) far eastern companies that make them any cheaper ? Cheers in advance.
KevinE
Do you mean crimp-on BNCs? CPC do them at 35p in 25's or 32p in 100's
3guk
Nope, I mean something like this :- http://www.smarthome.com/849320/BNC-RG59-C...for-Coax/p.aspx Currently using the Crimp ones, had a play with the compression ones today, and found they have a much "snugger" fit, you can place much more force on them before you can pull them off, should hopefully fix my issue of BNCs being ripped off and generally treated badly. Not that many people in the UK seem to have heard of them, I know Kramer sell them in the UK, was just hoping there was a more cost effective alternative. KevinE
You're right..I hadnt heard of them either. At first I thought you meant the standard BNCs with compression gland at the rear but then when you said you'd bought the tooling, I was puzzled! 3guk
They are definitely worth a look, you can get an RCA on the end of a cable in 30 seconds, which a much nicer and more reliable connection. Seem like the ideal thing for me, especially when some of my cables suffer from soldered ends being ripped off !! Think importing from America via ebay seems to be the cheapest way of doing things. Pete McCrea
If you can prove trade status, then the best way might be to go direct to Kramer Electronics in the UK. Otherwise you'll be stuck with the usual routes of CPC/RS and Ebay.
3guk
Yeah speaking to them at the moment, they have a pretty good amount of choice when it comes to compression fittings.
