LS9 Effects through the ST1-4 dials

Hi guys,

I'm running the LS9 for our local church, we've had it for about two months now and it's a great piece of kit.

I am having a real issue with getting the effects rack to appear at the speakers...

Basically, I've used the outputs of mixes 13-16 as inputs for racks 5-8 respectively.

I've assigned the outputs of these racks to the four ST dials(?) on the far right of

the desk, ST1-4.

I need, reverb, amp sim, delay, chorus.

I can hear the allocated effects when I CUE the ST channels (1-4) at the headphones,

but for the life of me cannot get this signal into the stereo out and through the speakers??

I've broken the back of the learning curve on the LS9 but this is really kicking my backside right now.

:)

Any ideas?

Hi, have you tried the following, select the stereo channel and in the box above where it says ST and MONO, there is a box labeled HA, below this is where you can select the input if you go in here you can select the rack number, come out of this and select in the box labeled PAN and select ST and / or mono and you should be able to hear it. you will need to do this a number of times as the ST1 is made up of a left and right and I think you might have to select the input (rack) in each screen for left and right. Once you have done it for Stereo 1 L it might copy it to the right channel but I am not sure, you will have to check this out.

I hope I have made sense, its quite difficult to explain without being sat infront of the desk.

From your description it sounds like you have the FX working and patched to the stereo return channels, have you routed the stereo returns to the main stereo output? I am not familiar with the LS9, but on all the other Yamaha digital consoles audio only goes as far as it is routed, and no routing is done as a default. Check the selected channel screen for those returns to be sure they are assigned to the stereo output.

ps, funny I should answer this question here, and then notice you have also asked it at PSW. :)
