Matthew Robinson
I'm looking to hire a SIL 15 Followspot (2000W) from a local hire company. It doesn't come flight-cased, and when I asked the dimensions, they didn't know... So: Can anyone tell me the physical vital stats of a SIL 15 Followspot? Most importantly: Length, width, depth and weight. Thanks Matthew
David Lee
google brings this up - http://www.cctlighting.com/lum/sil/ss-z00dx.htm Personally I wouldn't use a company which can't be bothered to find such simple details for a customer.

Stutwo
Having had use of SIL15 2KW followspots recently, I'd recommend actually having a look at the light output. In their day they were fine, but they suffer from age.
robloxley
Big, heavy, not overly bright. There are much more modern, bright discharge spots available - worth having a look round.

Matthew Robinson
Having had use of SIL15 2KW followspots recently, I'd recommend actually having a look at the light output. In their day they were fine, but they suffer from age. hmm, I have (literally) squeezed my budget (of £0) about as far as it will reach (to about £17.50 + VAT (which may or may not be chargeable- its an issue that we can't get to the bottom of (don't ask))). Does anyone have any experience with the SIL 25 (2000W) or the Cantata 11/26 (1200W) (although the Cantata costs £22.50 + VAT). Is a FollowSpot dimmer needed or could I jst get an adaptor from 13A to the relevant input. (Theres a beafy supply to the venue, but its easier to plug it in to the 13A socket next to it) Thanks
themadhippy
we've got a sil 10 (I think) 2k and its feeble, even struggles against prelude fressys. No need for a dimmer, plug it into the nearest 13A socket and use a blackout card.
robloxley
What is the throw & how big a spot do you want, so what beam angle would be ideal as iris-ing down to get a small enough spot eats light output?
Matthew Robinson
We've estimated the throw at about 10m, and we need a beam roughly big enough for a 6 foot guy...
